Great to share our vision for an affordable, seamless, multimodal transport network encompassing rail, tram, bus & bike options for West Yorkshire.

Today, I joined the DFT's Operator Conference to discuss the future of integrated transport and how devolution is key to unlocking its full potential.

Are you paying too much? January's a good time to get your finances in order.
10,000,000s of Brits are being ripped off by overpaying on energy, mobile, broadband, water bills and more. Tonight on 8pm ITV it's BillBuster time. I'll show you how to fight back by cutting costs and keeping more cash in your pockets not theirs. Please do share and pass word.

Have your say on green spaces
West Yorkshire is famous for its beautiful green spaces.

And your views can shape a plan to help ensure trees and woodland are planted where they’re needed most, for communities to enjoy and to help make our region greener.

@simonlightwood.org.uk @mayorofwy.bsky.social My 1st day back at work, new timetables, same old Arriva Wakefield, cold, wet, delayed. Learn from Manchester Mayor [NSNO]
Despite all of the challenges - legal and meteorological - we did it!

After 40 years of damaging deregulation, Greater Manchester has this morning successfully retaken control of the whole its bus network. 🙌🏻

I am not sure the use of "delighted" is appropriate, perhaps "humbled", may be more accurate. That said, charities doing great work in challenging circumstances, well done..thank you for signalling
The services homelessness charities provide can be a lifeline to those sleeping rough.

I was delighted to visit the Crisis warehouse with the Ministry of Housing & Angela Rayner to see the vital support staff and volunteers give to people sleeping rough in London as part of their Christmas appeal❄️

Time for water companies to be held to account. Prioritise your customers and not your shareholders.
Yesterday I spoke in favour of the water special measures bill and called for more to be done to make water companies act on flooding and to stop them digging up our roads. I also called out the Yorkshire Water bosses bonus youtu.be/Lciobr45o08?...

We are proud that the model of devolution pioneered by GM is being extended to the whole of England.

Trying to run everything from Whitehall is one of the reasons the country isn’t working.

Letting more places decide more for themselves is one of the ways we will fix it. 👍🏻

School buses play an important role in the community. @tracybrabinmayorwy.bsky.social @simonlightwood.org.uk do not allow these vital services to be taken away.

Hats off to these Bradford kids. Cancelling school buses is a bad idea on many levels!

First step in bringing all buses under public ownership. Buses are a service to the community and it's the right thing to do.
In March, the @mayorofwy.bsky.social made history as she decided to bring buses back under local control

Putting the public at the heart of the network, ensuring buses truly serve the needs of our communities

Mayor of West Yorkshire sets out our regional growth plan. I have high hopes that locally, and nationally, those elected stay true to their mandate and deliver positive change.
There couldn't be a more fitting time to publish our Local Growth Plan than the day Keir Starmer unveiled his Plan for Change.

Together, we're harnessing the true powers of devolution to transform our great region, boost economic growth and put more money in people's pockets.

Obesity is causing this country dearly. I was shocked to learn that UK is also the motability capital of europe. Time to eat less & move more.
Obesity robs our kids of the best possible start in life, sets them up for a lifetime of health problems, and costs the NHS billions.

This Government is taking action now to end the targeting of junk food ads at kids, across both TV and online.
