Andrew Gwynne was very kind when my brother passed away. I wouldn’t seek for a second to justify or defend his WhatsApps. But it’s honestly quite sad that the end of a 20 year parliamentary career due to ill health is being viewed through the lens of Labour psychodrama.

Only one Tory on the order paper for Today’s PMQs. It suggests that few Conservative’s are confident are confident enough in their party to want to put into the ballot for questions.

I was proud to add my name to this call for a ban on social media for under 16s. The evidence is becoming increasingly clear that the pressure and emotional toll that social media is having a negative impact on our young people and we should do what we can to protect them from that.

I have to say that running for the leadership of a party then going to join a different one when you don’t get your own way really is a shoddy way to behave. I’ve been involved in the Labour party for 26 years now, I can’t imagine treating the activists I’ve worked with with such little respect.

Today I have written to the Secretary of State for Education to share my concerns and those of parents about the proposed merger of Pennine Academy Learning Trust (PALT) and the Trinity chain of academies.

Today the government announced northern powerhouse rail, the biggest investment for generations in northern infrastructure. I used the announcement to push for the electrification of the Calder Valley line something the Conservatives promised in 2015 before cancelling it.

Have started training for the London Marathon this week. While trying to add 50m at the end of my run to make it 16k yesterday I ran onto some cobbles and absolutely stacked it on what turned out to be sheet ice. I love running but there is no joy on days like that.

Before Christmas I had health secretary @wesstreeting.bsky.social in front of the health and social care select committee where we discussed palliative care. This answer on the safety of the Terminally ill adults end of life bill was revealing and confirms many of the concerns I still have.

She’s right. She *deliberately* hacked into Harriet Harman’s website, whereas Rachel Reeves is accused of obtaining a license late by accident. I assume that’s what she means, given Badenoch is widely known for her thoughtfulness and her self-awareness.

She’s right. She *deliberately* hacked into Harriet Harman’s website, whereas Rachel Reeves is accused of obtaining a license late by accident. I assume that’s what she means, given Badenoch is widely known for her thoughtfulness and her self-awareness.

We won’t reach net zero without doing more to use less energy. And that includes insulating our homes. Yesterday a national audit office report showed that 98% of homes insulated under the last government were faulty. I asked the minister if this government will do better!
