I am a firm believer that whatever was said between Trump and Putin (whose English is good enough) privately in The Beast for several minutes without witnesses is the real reason for this whole last minute summit. And I am not so sure it was just about Ukraine.

In 2025, institutions with money and power are complicit little cowards while everyday people are unimaginably brave

Columbia bends the knee. A random LA principal blocks ICE from coming into his school

Paramount cancels shows. A Bronx baseball coach tells ICE agents to fuck themselves
CEOs who once criticized the president say little these days. Universities reshape campuses to comply. Mainstream news goes out of its way to legitimize policies.

It's alarming how willing powerful American institutions are to agree with Trump—and how unwilling they are to collaborate to stop him.

Judge Boasberg apparently made the remark at a small session presided over by CJ Roberts at a routine, closed meeting of judges. Roberts responded. Roberts should speak up now to say he thought nothing inappropriate was said at the meeting. He could also decry attempts to intimidate the judiciary.
The attack by Trump's DOJ on Judge Boasberg is ominous, and merely the first step in what will be a four-year effort to intimidate and discredit any judges who displease the administration, laying the predicate for ignoring or evading their authority.
