Sen. Van Hollen and his meeting with Abrego Garcia in El Salvador is all over the news and social media.

Joe Rogan is talking about the value of due process, wrongly denied to Abrego Garcia.

Thankfully the “just poll, then do what’s already popular, never try to lead or shape opinion” crowd lost.

I’m reminded again today that a big part of how we resist fascism isn’t by doing things—it’s by NOT doing things.

Refusal to cooperate is one of the best tools at our disposal.

Just so we’re clear, everybody calling Kilmar Abrego Garcia a “terrorist” or a “gang member” are lying, and they know they’re lying, and they repeat it for purposes of confusing people who don’t follow this stuff closely into accepting what was done to him.

We must all stand as a united front against the kidnapping and illegal detention of Kilmar Abrego Garcia in El Salvador.

Senator, I am willing to join you and help Organize other members of the House to do the same. @vanhollen.senate.gov
Maryland Sen. Chris Van Hollen is demanding a meeting with El Salvador President Nayib Bukele over the detention of Kilmar Abrego Garcia and says he’ll go to El Salvador himself if the Marylander isn’t returned.

Letter from Dem Senator Chris Van Hollen (MD) requesting a meeting with Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele
To discuss MD father Kilmar Abrego Garcia's return

"If Kilmar is not home by midweek – I plan to travel to El Salvador this week to check on his condition and discuss his release."

I just want to personally thank Pete Hegseth for proving my theory that when your entire personality is “minorities are incompetent,” it’s usually because you’re more incompetent than anyone could have imagined.

This is a blatant violation of the 1st Amendment but a lot of cowards in academia will use this as an excuse to crack down on campus protest.

I think most people are intuitively aware of this but something like the official White House account posting an “ASMR” video of shackled immigrants is not just cruel for its own sake, it’s intentional envelope-pushing to ramp up to desensitization over inhumane detention, camps, and deaths

One of his last works, Unfinished Painting, was deliberately incomplete, reflecting the devastating, unquantifiable loss to the arts due to AIDS.

Pete Hegseth isn’t DEI. Daniel Penny isn’t DEI. That’s not what DEI is.

They’re just grossly unqualified for their jobs and add no value that any replacement legacy job applicant wouldn’t bring.

So stop saying “it’s DEI” like it’s a clever commentary on the situation. It’s not.

Stop trying to convince people to care. Focus your energy on working with the people who already understand how important it is.

@chuckschumer.com Hey instead of posting on social media about how we're all going to hate higher prices maybe read this and take notes.
When I was a Hill staffer in 2009, a Dem trifecta was trying to pass universal healthcare. In response, Senate GOP released a memo detailing all of the tactics they in the minority could use to delay the effort as much as possible. I'm recirculating that 2009 GOP memo here. Take inspiration from it.

I appreciate the effort to sound the alarm and identify historic echoes—and many are making this analogy—but Hirschfeld’s Institute for Sexual Science, unlike the NIH et al., was not a government agency. Worse, the book burnings of 1933 did not involve the Institute setting its own records on fire.

It should be a red flag, by the way, when someone says you’re “the first” to discover a type of oppression.

Society and oppression have been around for far too long for that. It really mean you’re being isolated and others’ work is being erased.
I spent years of my PhD being told by sociologists that I was in the “first cohort” of sociological sexual violence researchers.

It wasn’t true. But the prior research wasn’t in the canon. And it had been forgotten by mainstream sociology.

If you can't find an online history for an organization (or, if it's a coalition, it's component organizations), DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR INFO
my god PLEASE do not sign up online for an organized general strike via a slick looking website claiming hundreds of thousands have already registered.

even if it's not a honeypot, it's still going to be a honeypot.
