This is very good from Matthew D'Ancona. I particularly like the idea that when I get to the café in an hour's time, I won't just be sitting on my arse with a book but joining the Resistance.

Like every Tory tax cut ever, it's a huge handout to the super-rich, progressively less to everyone else and nothing at all for the poorest. Nothing new there.

(And it will probably stoke up house prices)

Javier Milei had to beg a bail-out and already needs another. Argentina's economy is in a tailspin. Gov't bonds and peso in freefall. People starving, throwing rocks at him.

Farage last year: "He's amazing. It's Thatcherism on steroids. Cutting and slashing expenditure. That's leadership."

So we have the Corbyn faction, which hasn't launch. So this must be the Provisional Your Party.
We have the Sultana faction, which has launched, so that is the Official Your Party.
And this group, the grass roots, which must therefore be the Real Your Party.

Sky News says police are "overwhelmed by the numbers". Met coped perfectly well with 2x as many at the pro-Gaza rally, 5x as many at the anti-Brexit march, and 15x as many at London Pride.

They're not overwhelmed by the numbers. They're overwhelmed by the ratio of violent thugs in those numbers.

With the #NHS in England thrown into chaos, the government's ten year plan for health, coming out this week (maybe), has a lot of questions to answer. Here are six big ones.

I’ve been reflecting on the Health Secretary’s recent comments about wanting “more doers and fewer checkers” in the NHS.

Streeting has not "taken an axe to the central bureaucracy" by abolishing NHS England. He's transferring it into his own department. With DHSC outposts taking over functions from ICBs, the power of the "central bureaucracy" is increasing, even if it may have fewer people.

The new DHSC structure (after it's swallowed NHS England) has 25 directors – 13 DGs, 7 regional directors and 5 national programme directors – plus 3 bosses.

There were 27 directors across NHSE and DHSC before, so it doesn't look like there was all that much 'duplication' after all. 1/2

Crystal Palace FC were founded as a professional club in 1905, but the antecedent local amateur Crystal Palace team did play in the very first FA Cup semi-finals in 1872, going out in a replay to Royal Engineers. (Their next semi-final was 1976 as 3rd division Palace lost to division 2 Southampton)
