So we have four branches of BA.3.2 circulating now
two BA.3.2.1 related each other but distinct and two BA.3.2.2 related but distinct.
My take about this is that both lineages are enough tuned to not disappear , with BA.3.2.2 having the potential of expand further.

Your best bet is to email Pharmac to ask when LP.8.1 vaccine will be available

You can also check their website for updates

Update:
BA.3.2 detected in only one wastewater sample. Not detected in the following two weeks.

Week ended 5 October is during the school holidays so could be from trans-Tasman visitors.

NZ wastewater COVID19 surveillance dashboard update. poops.nz The levels detected are relatively low and there is a mixed bag of variants tracked and reported, including the first detection of BA.3.2 in NZ (albeit just in one sample a few weeks ago & hasn’t been detected since.

Thank you for the update. Wastewater for the win!

Where was it detected?

The arrival during school holidays on both sides of the Tasman suggests visitors from Australia. Am wondering how many people it would take to account for 3.2% of wastewater. Any estimates?

Thanks so much. Very interesting. Are you able to say which region the sample was detected in?

Was wondering around the timing with school holidays whether it could be a group of travellers that returned to a region in the 62% not captured by wastewater, or perhaps overseas.

Once again wastewater shows its value in early detection of new variants.

Note that the the updated LP.8.1 vaccine does not induce high levels of antibodies against BA.3.2.2.

LP.8.1 mRNA vaccine:

💠 Markedly boosts neutralising antibody responses against
NB.1.8.1 and XFG

💠 Much lower neutralising antibodies against BA.3.2.2 infections
1️⃣ Georg Behrens, Markus Hoffmann & team examined antibody responses induced by the novel LP.8.1-adapted mRNA vaccine.

Do you mean mRNA vs non-mRNA? The memo said “updated COVID-19 booster” so it will be one of the mRNA vaccines.

So distressing. It's bad enough dealing with long covid in midlife when you've at least lived some life. But these people are right at the start of their lives and they're so incapacitated.
The platitudes from the ministry of health don't help either.
