i think i'm gonna stop immediately turning my ideas into SCPs. the more i think about it the more I wish I hadn't written l'Ortolan as an SCP and had instead retained it as my own idea. the SCP elements were all shoe-horned in and it's not the kind of thing people on the SCP wiki care about.

It's wild how much of American history is just finding new and increasingly horrific ways to keep slavery going for as long as possible.
Fun fact about the Salvation Army: they use a form of substance use treatment called work therapy. Oh, and by treatment, I mean they have people who have been convicted of drug charges work for their stores & warehouses in exchange for room, board, around a $1 a week, and minimal actual therapy.
