For most of the last decade, our media and political class has panicked over the idea that progressives were intruding on free speech rights by loudly criticizing people with unpopular views.

Anyway, here's far-right federal paramilitaries advertising that they'll rip down pro-immigrant messages.
ICE just posted this video taking down the sign in Mount Pleasant on Twitter.

Late last night I mapped crime rates for cities in OH, SC and WV to show how often they exceeded the rate in DC — where those states’ governors are sending National Guard troops to “combat crime.” www.pbump.net/o/more-peopl...
More people in Ohio need protection from violent crime than there are people in D.C.
Governors of three states — Ohio, South Carolina and West Virginia — are sending members of their state National Guards to D.C. to … well, theoretically to combat crime but, if the past week is any in...

DC guards were not likely going to be violent towards DC residents (like CA guards were reluctant to harm LA residents). So they are bringing in kids from the red states for what now looks like a de facto occupation which could get even uglier …

Trump’s threat to “federalize” D.C. is nonsensical—D.C. is a federal enclave under Congress’s control, not the president’s.

If Congress doesn't act, it's unclear whether Trump will seize control of the police in 30-day increments for the remainder of his presidency.

NEW: We filed new STEER Act lawsuits against four out-of-state drivers.

These four drivers repeatedly endangered others — racking up $340,710 in tickets for over 1,000 traffic violations in DC.

We can make our roads safer for everyone by ensuring the most reckless drivers face consequences.

Life of the Mother
When the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022, doctors warned that women would die, but lawmakers who passed state abortion bans didn’t listen. The worst consequences are now becoming clear.

Note to editors and producers: If an executive order demands action that is illegal or outside of the president’s authority, then you should not describe it as ordering something. You should say it seeks to achieve some outcome and then note it is illegal or beyond the power of the president.
