Still a human
After years of the fail whale, I bet Twitter has good controls for new feature release. The breadth of release and speed of redaction of "poster geo location" makes me wonder if someone went rogue (or goofed) when this was turned on, then off, for everyone. Wish I could see the postmortem...

What are the chances this is actually some kind of test / attempt to identify dissenters? Hate to be a tinfoil hat, but Vance joins a known very unfriendly platform and immediately (and only) makes a provocative, hate-monger post. Is it engineered to see who reacts/blocks?
Advocate 20 Jun 25 - After joining BlueSky in an unsuccessful attempt at high-profile lib-trolling, VP Vance has become the most blocked account on B/S with ~120k blocks while gaining only ~10k followers. @rikiwilchins.bsky.social
JD Vance becomes the most blocked account on Bluesky after anti-trans post
JD Vance has been blocked by 11 times more Bluesky accounts than those that follow him.

Some belated years bests in music:

Best song of 2023: Old Death by @carcolors.bsky.social
Best concert of 2024: @brucespringsteen.net in Maryland
Best concert of 2025: Dragged into Sunlight's Hatred for Mankind set at MDF

I probably missed some stuff, but none of these were even close.

We need polling to tell us whether it's looked upon unfavorably to deploy jarheads into one of our largest cities.
a new washington post / GMU poll finds trump 15 points net negative on immigration, soft disapproval of his handling of LA protests (with lots of don't knows).

the narrative that these protests are good for trump is not supported by data at this point. see: www.gelliottmorris.com/p/why-the-la...

Reporting like this is why I have a recurring donation ("subscription") to ProPublica.
THREAD: We recently heard that the Trump administration was leaning on the government of Gambia to help Elon Musk. For weeks, our team made phone calls, wrote letters and knocked on folks’ doors to try to confirm it. But we were stuck.

So our reporters got on a plane to Banjul. 1/

This post made me increase my bluesky identity by about 10X but how did I not know Pavement covered this? The only pavement cover i was even aware of was the Wedding Present doing Box Elder.
