Longtime listener, first time caller, but does the reverse of this logic apply as well, Sam? If you bar parents from making medical decisions about their minor trans children, does that also violate the constitution? Or are you just a bigot. I'll wait and listen off the air.
Alito, joined by Thomas and Gorsuch, suggest that public schools violate the Constitution when they help a student transition (by acknowledging them as trans) without their parents' knowledge or consent.

Would force schools to out trans kids to their parents. www.supremecourt.gov/orders/court...

SCOTUS response to this, probably: oh well, it’s political gerrymandering so it’s not a question of law we can rule on!

Remember 2 weeks ago when @nytimes.com @jodikantor.bsky.social wrote a ridiculous profile on how ACB is basically the new surprise liberal SCOTUS justice?

Then she wrote an opinion saying trans people aren't a protected class AND authored the majority opinion killing nationwide injunctions.

“Unlikely to change much” ???

Wh..what?
The Skrmetti decision is unlikely to change very much, but “a Supreme Court decision declaring that there is no equal-protection right in this context is a significant setback for transgender rights more broadly,” Jeannie Suk Gersen writes.
Was a Right to Gender-Affirming Care for Minors Possible?
The Supreme Court was unlikely to strike down a state ban on some pediatric medical treatments, but the Biden Justice Department’s strategy made it even more improbable.
