Frightening! And Australian government thinks it's OK to extend Gas extraction bomb out to 2070. Perhaps there will be nobody left on earth to run the plant by then.

Every single time. When you don't need a paycheck to eat, when you have shit tons of money to sit on, you can eat up all the bankrupted properties and bottomed out stocks and ride the regrowth wave to huge profits. The rich exploit disasters they cause to monetize the rest of our losses.
