"Did you see what Mark Cuban posted? Oh did you see the clapb—"

You shake yourself awake in the cold North Atlantic water. You are not online. It is July of 1858. You are a baleen whale, and you have changed your mind. The future most not come to pass. The telegraph cable must break.

i strongly, strongly believe that good writing is downstream of clear thinking and a strong understanding of the subject matter at hand. without fail, tortured writing comes from writers who don’t know and can’t think clearly about anything.
Oh man! This paragraph is brutal. The best thing about this review is it's not trying to be mean. It's just listing how bad the writing is.

Question for @risabrooks12.bsky.social after reading ‘Paradoxes of Professionalism’, is the Huntingtonian model (and civ-mil theories more broadly) specific to the military, or are there equivalent dynamics at play with other national security entities? (eg police, immigration, intel, etc)

The reason Nate Silver and Mark Cuban hate Bluesky is because they get bullied, but the deeper reason they hate Bluesky is that this place exists for the pure-hearted, sicko poasters. Nobody's here for clout. We're here because we miss forums. We're here for the love of the game, baby.
So one of my two day old posts just went stupid viral and has gotten 1000 likes in 15 minutes if you're wondering what kind of engagement *dying* Bluesky is capable of these days.
