For the last 5+ years people have been sharing coastal landscape images with the Global Shorelines Project. I mount exhibitions in aid of marine conservation charities.
Maybe send me an image of a coast you love with a sentence of commentary.

Very sorry to report that the lovely Skye Gyngell, chef of Petersham Nurseries and latterly Spring at Somerset House, and so much else, died yesterday. She was a terrific cook, and a lovely person. My thoughts are with her family and friends.

This. What @drrachelclarke.com says.
My mum was an NHS nurse, so I know we owe an enduring debt of gratitude to all those who risked their lives daily, to save others.
Hate, loathe and despise are strong words, but I am happy to reserve them for Johnson, and his supporters.
Powerful piece by @drrachelclarke.com on the COVID inquiry. Those who say it’s easy to be wise in hindsight are being utterly disingenuous. Many of us spoke out at the time, and it’s in the public record.

It's Dr Who Day. Some of us are old enough to remember the first one.
William Hartnell also played Sergeant Grimshawe in the very first British 'Carry On' film series, Carry On Sergeant (1958).

FACT OF THE DAY. 23 November 1963. BBC1 broadcast the 1st episode of science fiction series Doctor Who with William Hartnell in the title role. The 1st episode deals with Ian and Barbara’s discovery of the Doctor and reveals his time-space ship TARDIS which is disguised as a police box.

We waited a very, very long time for an enquiry to tell us what most of us knew, all along. Johnson and his administration are culpable for a great many (avoidable) deaths.
Having Johnson & Cummings in Downing Street when Covid struck was, just like Brexit, an entirely avoidable disaster caused largely by utterly appalling journalism. And now exactly the same clowns, arses & bigots with bylines are rolling out the red carpet for Farage.

Imagine, just for a minute, you had a billion or a trillion $/£. Go on. Imagine.
Would you help to feed the poor, or help to heal the sick, or endow education placements, or defend democracy, or house the homeless?

People might actually remember you with love you for doing that.

Just for the absence of doubt. Sam Fender is the British answer to Bruce Springsteen.
Oh, and Andrew Scott is the British answer to Dustin Hoffman.

Once every 20 years or so, the director-general of the BBC is forced to resign for being insufficiently rightwing. Alastair Milne in 1987. Greg Dyke in 2004. Tim Davie in 2025. The great irony is that the BBC was in all cases profoundly biased towards established power. But just not biased enough …

Everyone should see a Shakespeare play live. If you think it might be inaccessible, because of the 'old' language, think again. Saw Measure for Measure recently and it's basically about abuse of power by misogynistic men. Sound familiar?

Oh.... and the cast in this one is spectacular.

I was wondering if there were any other bands who could claim to be the most influential, in the history of modern pop and rock music. These 4 British bands seem to be consistently on the list ... but would it be different in other countries?
