A point this article doesn't get to is that Australia is ravaged yearly by bush fires, which will only get worse. All the value from planting trees can be lost in day...
It's all bs to avoid doing the only thing that works - reduction.

Last night I saw a racoon riding a scooter, a Tellytubby linedup to go clubbing, and a sheeted ghost in top hat pissing in an alley, all under the misty glow of a half moon behind low-lying clouds.

This is a very fascinating thing...
The global whaling industry experienced a boom c. 1840-1950 as technology allowed whalers to hunt the Southern Ocean around Antarctica.

Under standard models, we would have expected krill populations to have *exploded*.

Instead, they DROPPED exponentially.

Let's talk about the KRILL PARADOX.

Potentially interesting development - I had to check in at the police station on Tues regarding my arrest for wearing a pro-Palestine Action t-shirt. But have just got a letter saying that since a case file was submitted to the Crown Prosecution, they are postponing my appointment till next month.

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

For those wondering why Labour are so openly enabling Reform... It is because they intend to build them up into a viable threat so they can use it against us at the next election. 'Vote for us or else!'
They, and the media lackies, will assure us it is 'the most important election of our lifetime'.

Clear, well stated - a clinical evisceration.
I've been critical at times of Greens for not always grasping core issues and lacking a strong response, but this deeply impressive. This guy might shake up a stagnant political arena.
Suspect he'll get studiously ignored by MSM if he keeps doing this.
@zackpolanski.bsky.social is asked about the Home Secretarys comments that yesterdays protests about Israels actions were dishonourable (she also said they were unBritish).

Zack is spot on.

Israelis are presently attacking the Gaza flotilla. It is being live broadcast on Youtube. Some have already been arrested, even though they are still in international waters. A clear crime, yet nothing is being done about. The more eyes on this broadcast the better..

Back to school is coming fast!

In #Paris, they have la rentrée sorted.

There are 300 "rue aux écoles," streets closed to cars, but open to people—up from 185 last year.

That means *half* of kindergartens + elementary schools now have school streets.

What's your city doing to keep kids safe?
