the PF2 Draconic Codex came out so I'm writing dumb dragon lore* for my dumb homebrew setting

* 25% lore, 70% gags, 5% introducing my setting's god of dragons in a serious tone and then describing Bahamut from Final Fantasy

I'm enjoying Metroid Prime 4 a lot, even with the issues. It's not necessarily hitting all the stuff I love about Metroid but it does feel like playing a early-2000s journey-focused exploration FPS. I'm almost getting more Half-Life nostalgia from it.

samus, your Scan Visor has been upgraded to Psychic Visor. so that you can read the furniture's mind

enjoying metroid beyond. it is a pleasing time. it is also absolutely full of baffling design choices. I've seen a bunch of people angrily responding to criticisms about it on here and so far every one of those criticisms has turned out to be fully valid

so far if i understand the lore correctly, metroid prime 4 is about an ancient race who considered the invention of the motorbike the dawn of a new era for their species

i mean i'm sure it's a fine game but i can't think of anything i want to do less in a Metroid than ride a motorbike between Areas of Interest in a large featureless expanse of sand. Like, almost *precisely* the opposite.

Ran the arc-finale session of Pathfinder tonight. Started this game in August and the first dungeon was a freehand-drawn map, white marker on A2 paper with Beginner Box standees for characters. three months and some DIY later I have slightly upped my game

Stealing this (players: Do Not Read)
The DM started describing a thieves cant symbol

I got this far into drawing it, at his instruction, before realising what it was and getting So Mad

Wake Up Dead Man was a great time, maybe the best in the series. I enjoyed Glass Onion but I'm glad they leaned the other way this time and did a more serious and dramatic murder mystery. Sort of feels like the sequels take Knives Out as a centrepoint and explore two different sides of it.

In Metal Gear Solid, guards will notice your footprints in snow. They have several voice lines for this. The mechanic is introduced and tutorialised in the second area of the game before you enter the complex. At no point after that are there any areas where you can leave footprints guards will see.
i was going through my X archives and found this by @superpodsaga.com, which I qrt'd at some point years ago

so, let me bring the question back: what is the most useless piece of video game knowledge you know?

my players are slowly discovering that my tendency to over-invest in making and tweaking models and outfits for my own RPG characters does not go away when I'm the GM and it's their characters

people never spare a thought for my feelings as a demanding, entitled dickhead. it's always "who the hell do you think you are" and never *how* the hell do you think you are

welp, spending most of the week printing and drybrushing minis as a surprise for my players really paid off, and the session ended up being one of the most complex, dynamic and fun combats that I've run

printing and texture-painting some custom minis for my Pathfinder group as a surprise for our arc-finale session on Wednesday. Drybrushing is bloody magic.

i bought a new resin printer for making tabletop minis and there is a little camera inside it so you can watch the print progress from your PC. and I can remote into my PC and turn it on, allowing me to surveil my flat from the inside of my printer as if I was a tiny little watchman living in a box

literally what the fuck is he talking about
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."
