A thing I keep thinking about is how Lee Corso never would've gotten that job today.
Networks lean heavily into hiring big names over actual TV talent, people who view the job as just a job. Lee viewed the role as more than that.
Perhaps there's a lesson there.

I think the thing I despise the most about Newsom boosters is that they won't just flat out say they agree with his anti-trans views (which they obviously do). Instead, they frame them as positions Dems need to take to appeal to some vague hypothetical voter.
