He thought it would be easier to peddle soft influence than it ended up being. He didn't think so many editors and reporters would stick to their principles under threat of losing their jobs. He didn't think so many people would stop reading when they noticed the paper printing bullshit.

Naah, I want them on trial.
Democrats want commonsense reform for ICE:

End the roving patrols and racial profiling.

Take accountability and abide by the same rules as local police.

Masks need to come off, body cameras need to stay on—no secret police in the United States of America.

idk man she made some pretty good points about how your editorial board is dogshit
From the Editorial Board: Kat Abughazaleh made a show of declining (sending a spokesman, for goodness sake) to be part of the editorial board’s endorsement interviews after first informing us she would attend.

Weather finally warmed up so I’m back with my river talks.

Before we dive head first into the craziness that is February, I want to do a AMA.

Ask me anything about TXST, Rattlers, San Marcos, personal stuff, or whatever floats your boat.

it’s not just “being a republican” that lost her the race it’s that people will recoil in horror and outright reject the movements to takeover school boards once they realize how insane they are and how damaging it is. because it is

It's striking that progressives like Tim Walz and Zohran Mamdani evoke the middle American attitude that, "Yes, we can fix these social problems because we're Americans and it's the right thing to do!" While the "America first" right only emulates failed and failing nation-states elsewhere.

the blind spot continues to be that he’s privileged to live in a debate team world that isn’t reality and instead one side of the political world very clearly doesn’t want to have to live here with people that don’t look or think like them and wants to use force to make that dream a reality
"All I can say for me in the work I do is that I want to create a space that takes our disagreements seriously, that takes the stakes of them seriously, the consequences for people seriously, but does so without deepening our divisions irreparably. We are going to have to live here with each other"

MLS should have over 100 teams. Every community has one. Let some rich dude build up a team in Ames, Iowa and have them face off with Chicago, DC United and such. That's how you get grassroots in America.
Everybody should absolutely view this as an invitation to drop your spiciest soccer takes.
lol I’m gonna need bluesky’s biggest soccer post ever to balance out all the politics engagement im burying myself under.

A thing I keep thinking about is how Lee Corso never would've gotten that job today.

Networks lean heavily into hiring big names over actual TV talent, people who view the job as just a job. Lee viewed the role as more than that.

Perhaps there's a lesson there.

I lowkey hate Jax State’s uniforms. Not the color scheme but execution of the design from the neck down. It’s everything I hate about Adidas football uniforms. It just looks so cheap and what I would expect a high school team would wear.
