Lawyers for James Comey, the former FBI director, sought on Thursday to dismiss the perjury and obstruction charges against him, arguing that federal prosecutors botched the indictment by misusing the grand jury process and by accusing him of telling a lie that he never actually told.

Last year, student homelessness in California—where rents continue to soar past wages—rose by 20,000, reaching its highest level in a decade.
But sure, keep insisting homelessness is all about mental illness and addiction.

My oldest received their first Canada Disability Program payment. $200 every month, that would make a difference, if the Alberta government would not immediately deduct it from their AISH! Theft from the poor!

The Canadian government cannot afford to give any more tax cuts.
Unless those demanding cuts have an alternative to filling the federal coffers so we can fix infrastructure, build hospitals houses and schools pay workers a living wage.
The present system doesn't work anymore. Change mandated

We've done far too good a job over the decades of cultivating public health and medical leadership positions as principle-free spaces. Eagerness to obey regardless of ethical qualms and material consequences for vulnerable groups is effectively a prerequisite for career advancement.
I can't get over senior federal public health officials obediently following eugenicist orders to target racial and gender minorities, and then being shocked that they are subsequently fired anyway––and then publicly talking about all of this with no shame and a belief that they are the victims.

The Trump regime is now using US Attorneys to intimidate academic journals by sending them letters demanding they explain how they ensure ‘viewpoint diversity.’ Journal editors should be public about this and coordinate to refuse to comply with these fascist tactics.

It shouldn't matter if Trump’s victims have criminal records. If we only defend the “innocent,” the fascists will argue that their victim “was no angel.” An anti-fascist rhetoric that carves out exceptions for imperfect victims is a gift to our opponents.
