@uncannymagazine.bsky.social I know you probably don't need more work to do, but I'd pay for a curated collection of works like The Year Without Sunshine; something to read to offset the darkness of the world and to be reminded that there's still hope.

I've seen people say that getting attached to ChatGPT is like "believing the stripper really loves you", but that's not true. It's more like believing that the dryer personally composed that little jingle on a lonely sockless night just to win your affections.

PolitiFact - Do ICE officers have ‘federal immunity’ as White House official Stephen Miller said?

No

Do ICE officers have ‘federal immunity’?
Stephen Miller said ICE agents have federal immunity. Agents have broad protections when they’re conducting official duties. But they’re not immune from prosecution if they break state or federal law.

Every race. It’s basically been every race.

Governors. Mayors. Long-held GOP dog-catchers. School boards. Water boards. Flipped a dungeon master in a rural Iowa D&D club. State senators. State reps. A janitor in Duluth. State justices. Three GOP Uber drivers.

Just everything.

The anti-vaccine movement has the same talking points now as it did in the 1800’s. It’s always been a rejection of science, scientists, and progress, with a soupçon of paranoia.

Below is a slide for a talk I’m preparing that illustrates the identical strategies. I have more examples, too.

For years I've been using a made-up term, "elliptical sex" to describe sex that is implied. I invented it based on Piers Anthony's use of the ellipsis in his Xanth series for sex and intimacy that is implied but not explicitly described. The downside is that no one understands the term.
Normally, I don't respond to negative reviews, but if you tag me...

For the record: there's 1 off-stage sex scene. And a second 5 sentence on-stage scene in which the body parts mentioned are, back, thighs, and butt.

This is your reminder that everyone has a different threshold for "porn."
Pass - went to Audible to buy the audio book and the review is below. I really enjoyed The Spare Man. I really dislike sex in my science fiction (or urban fantasy books) - and won't knowingly buy such books, or if I do find out after buying and spending my time and money, will review accordingly.
