Over the moon there’s new Lily Allen music out of such high quality. Sad for her it comes from such a place of pain and rage. But it really is an amazing album!

Oh my, @bexhb.bsky.social , can you imagine?!
Six weeks ago, I picked up a year-old tawny owl with a broken leg off the main road near our home and dropped him off at our nearest vet.

After a few days, I received one of the most bizarre phone calls I’ve ever had, asking “So when are you coming to pick up your owl?” 🧵

@martinm-media.bsky.social This thread might as well have been written just for you (poor Louise!)
approximately three hundred of you have sent me this and you know what? Sure. I’ve got time today. Put 40 bulbs of garlic in my pasta, coming right up

1. INT. SHOP - EVENING

Darkened shop interior, moonlight-lit. The Most Important, Beautiful, Magical, Saggy Old Cloth Cat in the Whole, Wide World sleeps, quietly snoring. His eyes dart open, upon the silhouette of a stranger.

They step into the light. It's Mr Benn.

Here - just take my money …
Netflix have announced a new four part crime thriller by Charlie Brooker, starring Paddy Considine, Georgina Campbell and Lena Headey.

It’s called UNTITLED CHARLIE BROOKER PROJECT (working title) and is now in production.

There needs to be some sort of enormous prize for the first person to invent an app which automatically searches through all your streaming services to find out where the film you absolutely know you bought is.

So, finally and slightly reluctantly got round to watching Thunderbolts*
Great stuff. I mean, really. Some pacing issues but they remembered films need, y’know, a story!

Just been to the #nffc press conference. It was crazy. Basically the relationship between Nuno Espírito Santo and Evangelos Marinakis has fallen apart. Live page here:

Genuinely awesome choice of small hill to die on. I’m tempted to join Alan just because of the sheer futile nicheness!

Love love love that Raye comes out at #Glastonbury with her slick look and her slick band and slick slick rhythms and still manages to give of an air of endearing shambolic ness. Quite the trick!. Anyway, she’s awesome.

I got dumped once and one of the worst things about it (and it was really really terrible to begin with) was the following morning there was no coffee in the coffee jar. Hysterical doesn’t cover my reaction.
Woke up this morning, hungover, with no coffee. None, of any sort, anywhere in the house. If you want to learn how thin the line is between you and a crazed drug fiend I highly recommend it.

While you highlight it, please note is the product of local journalism, which has been carrying a lot of the burden in an environment where national outlets simply can't cover everything everywhere all at once. Support your local journalists!
Please highlight this story.

ICE stormed into the wrong house, trashed the place, and made women/girls stand outside in the rain in their underwear. ICE also stole phones, laptops, and cash savings from the family, who moved to OKC two weeks ago.

Once again, if AI can’t get basic facts right consistently what is it actually FOR?
I googled David Olusoga to check when his daughter was born and Google AI confidently assured me that he "does not have a daughter". This sort of thing happens a lot. It constantly amazes me that they rolled out this broken technology and put it at the top of the page. It's a misinformation machine.

I’m not allowed a public opinion on the politics of this. But purely as a journalist, imagine, just IMAGINE, a scoop like this landing in your lap. Top tier stuff!
