Every day, these people make me feel like Jonah up on the hill.

I WANT SMITING AND I WANT IT NOW.

But this is not the Way. Tend to your hearts, friends. Anger and mercy are an odd combination, but there can be space for both. Overcome evil with good.

My only working explanatory hypothesis right now is that billionaires and authoritarians *Literally* thrive on human misery; that if people aren't suffering then all their money and power don't actually sustain them, and that cruelty & sheer horror are the only things that flow through their veins.

In RFK's world, people dying makes the general population healthier. Of all the irreparable harm caused by this administration, his may be the greatest.
RFK Jr talks like a new age health guru, but most of his views are garden-variety hateful reactionary. He wants people with HIV to die as punishment. Same thread runs though his positions on Medicaid, vaccines, opioid treatment, psychiatric meds, etc: you deserve to suffer, it's God's will.
The Trump administration is phasing out support of HIV clinical guidelines, which affect what tests, treatments and medications are covered by insurance companies and Medicare www.washingtonpost.com/science/2025...

A life devoid of self-sacrifice and a life that doesn't consider the needs of others higher than needs of self is not a life that follows Jesus.

My patients agree to meet with me and continue meeting with me because they all know they need to change. To be braver, more honest, more accepting, etc. But people in the church really want to believe they have "made it" spiritually (myself included tbh)

Spending time communing with people who don't really appear interested in growing in Christ is exhausting tbh. I really don't know how pastors do it.

Shocking the extent to which a lot of the GOP is committed to killing their own voters

Been seeing patients this week and feeling useful. Tonight I'm hitting up Costco and indulging in the food court after. Little acts of support and resistance are the lifeline of moving forward.

Lost in the utter stupidity of trying to absorb Canada into the U.S.A. is the fact that it would be so dumb to make it one state. If we're going to entertain this idiocy, at least recognize that we would keep the existing provinces and territories and convert those to states.

An unelected South African has taken control of the US Treasury and is deciding to stop payments on American obligations, in violation of numerous court orders, and admits in the Oval Office that he has done so upon incorrect information, while the President sits impotently behind the Resolute Desk.
Reporter: You said an example of fraud that you have cited was $50 million of condoms was sent to Gaza but after a fact-check apparently it was Gaza in Mozambique meant to protect them against HIV.

all I know is that had President Biden forced out the FAA chief under pressure from his top adviser and his corrupt motives, and then the next week there was a plane crash that killed more than 60 people, Republicans would be howling that it was an impeachable offense.

Guys, I can't believe this. This whole time, St. Paul endorsed the despicable sin of empathy. He even said we shouldn't keep our mercy and service exclusively to other Christians, but should "love our enemies?!?!" I don't know how we can allow Romans 12 to remain part of God's Word.

I think I used to be disappointed at Easter and Christmas only church goers because they weren't connected to the consistency of the body of Christ. But I'm realizing there are Easter and Christmas Christians filling the pews every Sunday.

1. Trump's immigration crackdown is premised on the idea that the US is experiencing a massive surge in violent crime

According to Trump the crime wave is especially severe in cities

THIS IS A LIE

New data shows crime is LOWER than when Trump left office in 2020, and below pre-pandemic levels

This is a violation of the constitution.

Congress determines how to spend money. The executive must spend it.
NEW — OMB temporarily pauses all agency grants and loans programs.

Per copy of memo: "The use of Federal resources to advance Marxist equity, transgenderism, and green new deal social engineering policies is a waste of taxpayer dollars that does not improve the day-to-day lives of those we serve."

This is an excellent point. These are people famously unwilling to sacrifice for the good of the country. How long will the endure high prices as "for the greater good?"
Yup. MAGA die-hards and millions of low-info voters went for Trump with the understanding that mass deportations and tariffs are an infinite money glitch.

They are expecting a windfall, not sacrifice for an amorphous greater good—an idea they reject on personal, ideological, and religious grounds.
People who claim that MAGAs won’t care if coffee is $20 a cup are missing the fact that Denny’s-loving MAGAs have not actually been asked to sacrifice a damn thing for the greater good by their idiot leader before (and no, in their minds, losing Pee Paw to Covid doesn’t count)
