At my age, I’m somewhere in between hardcore and grandma core.

I can't really justify/afford going on holiday for my week off, so I'm instead staying in bed and watching films.... Today is a Claire Denis day, starting with Beau Travail (1999).

I also socialized twice on the weekend, so predictably, I am now bed bound for a day or two due to no spoons.

Watched Jeanne Dielman (by Chantal Ackerman, 1975) for the first time on Saturday and cannot stop thinking about it, so I'm watching it again.

Hot take that's been on my mind: I don't really like the Elephant Man. The class politics are really cackhanded and offensive. The working class are portrayed as mindless drunken baddies, whilst the middle class are nuanced, kind, empathetic.

RIP to the wonderful Mark Pawson, who I encountered many a time at zine fairs, who was always a lovely cheery chappie, and whose mail art really inspired me: www.theguardian.com/artanddesign...

Sunday morning in bed + Ealing comedies. Is there any more iconic a duo? I don't care how sunny it is, I'm cosy in bed with knitting, coffee and Whiskey Galore (1949).

My knitting has been interrupted again because of bad shoulder goings on and I hate it. Considering buying a bunch of embroidery stuff so that I don't lose my mind completely (craft=good mental health for me).

I miss the old internet. Kinda Internet 1.5…. the internet of forum boards, RSS feeds, blogs, my Google reader that was honed and finesse to perfection according to my hyperfixations of the month.
