This is probably politically untenable even in an Assad level blue wave trifecta, so I won't lose sleep if no one wants to expend the capital to make it happen, but yeah this objectively should be a cornerstone of the rebuilding plan and I don't think anyone even argues that as a practical matter
One thing that needs to happen when we get out of this is that we need to dramatically increase the GS pay scale. No one in govt is getting paid an industry-standard rate. The benefits used to kinda make that ok, but the GOP has bullied, harassed, traumatized, etc the federal workforce. Those still
I know everyone thinks all feds are like GS-15s in NoVa with a consultant spouse pulling down six figures, but in reality land shit is starting to Get Bad even for those of us with decent financial resources
