One of those weeks where the POTUS has committed at least one impeachable offense and done several other things (hosting a murderer at the WH; playground slurs against a journo; selling out Ukraine) that are each shameful beyond comprehension.

What. An. Asshole.

Yesterday was a day ... pres presents a "peace plan" that's an outright gift to his handlers in Moscow (with a l'il dippy dip for himself). Also wants MoC murdered. America having a normal one.

Great thread.

Aligns with my personal view that MAGAts excuse all the corruption and other criming because deep down they believe that everyone is on the take; so being "honest" about the grift is an improvement.

It's a horrible, cynical worldview. But it's real.
When they say Trump calling a reporter "piggy" is "just being honest," they are revealing a key feature of the reactionary mind: it believes, at a deep brainstem level, that *everyone* is awful & selfish & ugly on the inside. Everyone just suppresses it out of fear of social disapproval. Not Trump!

While there aren’t any more games this year, we’ve already seen there’s a steady stream of news. Not to toot our own horn, but this is when a resource like us is particularly valuable. Consider supporting. www.sounderatheart.com#/portal/signup

Man I remember being so excited when the US was picked as a host country and Seattle seemed likely to get games. Now it's clear there was no point in that excitement. These games were never going to be for me.

Counterpoint: disgraceful cowardice; utter capitulation. @kaine.senate.gov this is the same logic Chamberlain used at Munich. You should be ashamed.

What's even worse is that as atrocious as this is on its own it almost certainly goes deeper. This is highly likely to be caught up with vast corruption and hostile state actors.
The Epstein saga is the biggest political cover-up in modern history.

The Sounders have said they want to sell an equity stake in the team. I suspect, there’s a lot more going on.

Absolutely validating my choice to not watch a single minute of the NFL this year if I can do it.
Exactly why the Epstein Files need to be shared.

Chuck Schumer, hours before he rolls over like a good doggie.
Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis

For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare

We will keep fighting

Dems: we hold all the leverage!

Also Dems: let's capitulate! That's what the people want!

This vid gives me all the feels. What a great, human, moment.
This is disability visibility.

Mamdani listened. He didn’t pander or talk over the disabled journalist.

He acknowledged his concerns and gave real responses about how he plans to fix them.

1 in 4 Americans has a disability, it’s a huge number of voters.

Don’t ignore us!

Maybe just me but seems like pissing off a bunch of people to own the libz just isn't the flex the Trumpettes think it is.
Cutting flights because of the govt shutdown is a stunt, plain and simple

Relative to Duffy's personal experience, this may actually be true.
Duffy: "Can I make one other point about POTUS before we're out of time? I have never seen someone work so hard. All day long he's moving, he's meeting, he's thinking. Dinners he's usually meeting with people. And then at night he's still on the phone calling people! He doesn't stop. He's a machine"

I'm a bit late to the party but it's uncanny the extent to which The Boys basically captures the inner workings of the Trump administration.

I guess it's still too early to call but Seattle bucking the nationwide trend and going with the NIMBY centrist for mayor is ... something.

When, exactly, did Audi supplant BMW as the vehicle of choice for a certain kind of yuppie arsehole?

I'm genuinely curious about this ... like, this was directly related to some kind of marketing. What CMO decides to lean in to the all-important jackass market?

Oh my god???

Marjorie Taylor Greene: “I will praise Nancy Pelosi. She had an incredible career. I served under her speakership in my first term of Congress. And I'm very impressed at her ability to get things done. I wish we could get things done for our party.”

Pelosi will have been in Congress for over 15% of the life of the Republic.

Thats a lot.
Speaker Pelosi has been the most consequential leader of our time, a history maker, and pillar of unmatched strength, strategy, and brilliance.

It's worth at least noting that Nora O'Donell's husband's business has been targeted by ICE raids.
On this @60Minutes interview. Trump lies as he breathes. He lies every time he opens his mouth. We’ve never ever faced this before. And the media still has no fucking clue how to deal with it. It is pointless to interview him if you don’t fact check his lies. It’s just pointless.

There's an interesting historical parallel. The proto-liberals of the Dutch Republic in the 17th century were famously reserved (black clothes etc.) but had exquisite taste in art and music. This was a direct aesthetic response to the pomposity of European royalty.
The horny for marble bathrooms posts, the gold vomit Oval Office, the oligarch-funded ballroom, A GREAT GATSBY HALLOWEEN PARTY… I mean.

Historians will have to answer a lot of student questions about this went on so long.

Trump is at the Halloween party at MAL

“Official theme is Gatsby and ‘a little party never killed nobody’, we’re told.”
