🚨🚨🚨BREAKING NEWS: Was just passed this from a fellow service academy grad. A Coast Guard Academy graduate posted this. They are reporting that ICE entered base housing and took a USCG spouse. I can’t confirm this but I’m calling for answers from the Coast Guard and Congress. This is unacceptable.

Hard to believe, and certainly no one could have predicted this, but it turns out all the crypto bros who flocked to Puerto Rico claiming to be its saviors did not in fact make things better for locals www.nytimes.com/2024/08/13/t...
The Unraveling of a Crypto Dream
Brock Pierce arrived in Puerto Rico seven years ago, promising to use crypto magic to revitalize the local economy. Now he’s mired in legal disputes and fighting with his business partners.

Wow that’s quite a read. I wonder if P. Theil and Pres. uskmellon and JD Yarvn and the Hairytage Found. have thought of a way around this. Could be they haven’t, but were hoping for enough chaos swirling that it somehow couldn’t work. Cooler heads tend to prevail. Let’s hope so!
I strongly suspect this recent piece from Prof. David Knoll is about to be come extremely relevant and widely read.

"Even a rogue marshal’s service, in other words, is not an insurmountable obstacle to courts enforcing the rule of law. If courts have the courage, the legal tools are there."

I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable.

Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes.

Virtually every swing district House Dem walked the plank to vote NO for a reason.
