The whole NYTimes debacle about Zohran Mamdani's identity is extra painful because of course they would defend themselves and not back down. Even in 2025, there are white people who feel entitled to ultimately determine the identity, professional privileges, and public perception of non-white people

For all those wondering, this is my son, PER-C (Percy). We share no blood but he is my life. He came from Tennessee (legally, of course) four years ago and lives with me in Germany.

I am so proud of him and raising him has been the best, most rewarding thing I've done in my life.
