In search of the world's best everything bagel and imperial stout. Also public policy, classic films, College basketball and Mets baseball.
Happy Pete Alonso got his 💰. Sad he won't finish his career as a Met. Also happy the Mets aren't paying him and Nimmo $250 million for the next 5 years. Excited to see what Stearns and crew cook up instead.

Finally checking Brooklyn Paramount off my NYC concert venue list with The Beths after a series of concert mishap flakery on my part.

Botched one of my salary cap drafts this year and so I spent $4 on him instead of the $1 minimum for a non GOAT kicker. Worth every penny as he singlehandedly tries to kick my team into the playoffs.
in his 3 NFL seasons, Brandon Aubrey has as many career 60-yard field goals (6-for-9, 66.7%) as every NFL kicker from 1960 to 2008 (6-for-82, 7.3%)

Wilbur Huckle For President: Solving A 61-Year-Old Mets Mystery | Defector
Earlier this year, on a cold Sunday in January, I walked into an antique store in a Washington D.C. suburb. When I go to a shop like this one, I’m not looking for chairs or lamps. My interests are a l...

Just realized it's pitch black out right before I leave the office to go 🏡 just as the sun was just rising as I walked into it this morning. Going to be a long 4 months until the return of DST / I can see the 🌞 a majority days of the week on a regular basis.

100 days til spring training? 😩 Credit to the Dodgers for earning that one, even if Dave Roberts no one believed in us spiel was a bit much. Yamamoto is ridiculous. Get me to the hot stove season already!

Go Jays. This Ohtani pitch break bullshit is ridiculous.

Went to bed at 11:30 when they went to extras since I needed to be up in 5 hours for work. Looks like I missed an absolute classic 🫠.

I'm sure this ALDS extra inning game is absolutely excruciating for a Tigers or Mariners fan, but for me personally, someone who just got out of one of my favorite film festivals enjoying a nightcap from one of my favorite breweries - this is a near perfect Friday night.

Today in transit misadventures - got quite the surprise when I got to Hoboken and found PATH suspended for the first time in my 6 months of commuting. Took the ferry instead. Nice 🌅 view worth the + 10 minutes to my commute.

Well depressed but not surprised by that finish to the Mets season. Just didn't have the juice this year / too many injuries / some insane bad luck at the wrong times. Maybe next year will finally be the year?

Great final night at Citi Field this year (non NLDS edition) for yours truly. Juan Soto is simply a force.

Most miserable game I've been to in a long time between a kid constantly blowing a Diaz plastic trumpet behind me for 9 innings and the most misanthropic fan I've ever seen sitting next to me cursing out this 'failure of a franchise" every ab ( he's apparently a renewing season ticket holder 🙄)

DeGrom has retired 15 Mets in a row. He's through seven innings. New York hitters are 4-for-48 dating back to last night's first inning.

Friday night which means it's time for some Metsochism. (Fully expect deGrom to go 7 and allow 1 run and take the L like old times).
