"paralyzing cowardice" by the BBC. (See further down this thread)
I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

I used to work on the Homeless Outreach Team in Exeter.

A couple of weeks ago I bumped into a couple who were my clients 7 or 8 years ago and was absolutley delighted just to see they were still alive.

Of course, they were still homeless, but the bar is so low.

Radical change is needed.
The shocking news that 21 homeless people died in Exeter last year shows the massive challenges faced by Exeter's hard-working homelessness charity St Petrock's.

There's only so much one organisation can do, however brilliant. And St Petrock's is brilliant.

Quaker statement in response to Manchester synagogue attacks on Yom Kippur.

We offer our love, support and solidarity with the Jewish community, in Manchester and beyond, following the horrifying antisemitic attack on a Manchester synagogue on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.

Golden opportunity for my old mate Nigel Byles to make his political comeback.
I'm 1987 he formed the Let's Have Another Party Party and stood in Exeter. He achieved a creditable 1.2% swing against the sitting Tory but sadly his 209 votes weren't enough to guarantee the next party.

Replacement bus services are a real nuisance for cyclists using the train service. Axminster or Yeovil to Misterton (where Crewkerne station is located) is hilly and with main roads difficult to avoid....grhh
Crewkerne station in Somerset is closed until further notice because the ground is so dry that the railway embankments can't support trains running at normal speeds

Another example of how our infrastructure isn't resilient to climate change - adaption needed!
