Railway press officer, Norwich City follower, terrible bass player.
NIMBY latest in Whitstable - proposed new homes on the outskirts are “parasitic” as people will use them to “work in Canterbury and London”.
I’ve lived in east Kent and commuted to London for 13 years, so I guess I am also a parasite? Or does that depend on where exactly I live in Whit? Anyone?

Some dude posted a screen grab of Teletext on Insta, giving it the “can you believe this is how people used to get football scores” and, yes, i was at one of the matches on the screen so I am clearly 102 years old thank you.

The extensive list of irrelevant shite it responded with was quite something.

So. Today's shenanigan's was tracing the route of London's second river (ok, second best known maybe). The River Fleet!

Off to Hampstead with me this morning, for a foggy start. I ambled up the hill to Whitestone Pond, the highest point of inner London. Not the source of this river but a good start

It’s niche I know but a 10-minute documentary with no commentary/interviews/music that still holds the attention is a seriously good piece of work from the Norwich City film team.
Shame they’re not on Bluesky yet.

I reckon there’s been maybe two sunny days in the last two months in east Kent. What’s the meteorological reason for this abject gloom?
I’m lucky I’m not a sufferer from SAD but people who are must be really struggling.

If Russell Martin hadn’t got Southampton promoted last season, he would probably still be in a job.
Feels like the best a manager can hope for is promotion and then getting sacked and collecting a payoff rather than building a sustainable club.

Thoroughly enjoying this throwback to the 1990s at Fratton.
Soon there will be a mass brawl, and Bob Fleck will be sent off.

I'm not saying that AI-written books are becoming a problem on Amazon, but here is the first page of a new book on the 1980 Iranian Embassy Siege.

Sorry for the poor quality pic but I had the joy just now of seeing the Night Ferry at London Victoria’s platform 2 popping up in the Ipcress File (the 1960s version). That’s Michael Caine there escaping the country. Or attempting to.
