This week:

-Three more universities rejected Trump's extortion compact
-Over a dozen airports refused to play Kristi Noem's propaganda video
-30+ press outlets refused to comply with Pete Hegseth's new restrictions

The only way to rebuke Trump's authoritarianism is solidarity.

To everyone that’s upset about the display of Mexican flags at the ICE protests in LA, it’s a shame that they weren’t carrying American flags like they did on January 6!

I met Richard Chamberlain years ago - and was shocked to learn he’d NEVER SEEN TOWERING INFERNO, in which he was the bad guy.

So I went home, got my dvd of the movie, went to his apartment - where he had gathered 10 friends.

That was a great night, watching him watch himself just kill it.

RIP
A fond farewell to Richard Chamberlain, whom those of a certain generation remember from Dr. Kildare, or The Thorn Birds, an actor with more range that he was asked to display, and with real courage to acknowledge that he was gay.

BREAKING: The Supreme Court ruled the Trump administration must pay U.S. businesses and nonprofits the congressionally authorized $2B they’re owed for work already completed for USAID.

This ruling is a victory for the rule of law. President Trump has a constitutional duty to comply with this order.

A brief word today at the end of the fifth horrific week of Trump 2.0. We are witnessing the transformation of our democracy into a dictatorship (or, as Trump enjoyed promoting this week, a monarchy). https://robertreich.substack.com/p/from-democracy-to-dictatorship

gather round kids and I’ll tell you of a bygone era when congress jealously guarded its power
We all like to yell at the Democrats, but it’s really Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate Majority Leader John Thune who are letting Elon Musk and his faceless goon squad make a mockery of their power as leaders of a coequal branch without uttering a peep or lifting a finger.

US COVID SHOTS ARE FREE.

Please do not let Walgreens and CVS mislead you or your family members or neighbors about this! They are the biggest part of the federal bridge (free shots for uninsured people) program, but the rollout’s logistics have been a little scattered and you may get pushback.
PSA: the CDC has a program that pays for your COVID vaccine if your insurer won't. The guy at CVS told me that my insurer had not added the new vaccine to its formulary yet, so I'd need to pay $190. I told him about this program, showed him the website, and paid nothing. 🤗
