I know CBC isn't officially on BlueSky but recently I've lost all faith in their journalistic integrity. From inviting Kevin O'Leary to explain why Canada should be annexed by the USA, to declaring the solution to traffic congestion is AI, it seems like they are basically putting zero effort in.
UMMM: "CBC News asked ChatGPT whether Newfoundland could be seen from Cape Breton. The answer was "generally no," but the artificial intelligence chatbot said in theory Newfoundland can be "barely visible" under perfect atmospheric conditions from very high points.

The irony of the CBC telling everyone that the CBC is going to use AI "responsibly."

It's like asking a politician if they're corrupt.

I’d like to add to the ‘why’ list: why does CBC continue to quote Conservative pollsters? Especially when talking about pipeline politics?
Even more importantly, why is CBC still on Twitter and not here on Bluesky? As well as most of their staff?

That needs to be corrected ASAP.

This is actually an either/or thing. The CBC can either use AI or keep my trust in its reporting. You have options. You don't have to clearly label AI-generated things. You can just not use them!

It is wholly inappropriate and professionally negligent for a journalist to rely upon, let alone quote, ChatGPT as a source. CBC News should have established guidelines to make sure this kind of thing never happens.

CBC devalues its journalism by becoming no more than a YouTube channel. Now our national broadcaster is turning into AI slop.

This is the enshittification of CBC and Canadian news in general

But why would Doug Ford possibly be be worried about being exposed for funneling public money to his friends?

His style is pure Fox News — sensational, opinion-first, and loaded with provocation.

If he prefers that American faux journalism, maybe he’d be happier working there.
