One thing I always hate about Food Discourse is that dietary restrictions are real and potentially life threatening if disregarded and yet most people consider them impolite fads or choices.

Most restaurants won't accommodate my dietary restrictions. That means I basically have to watch Mercy eat if we ever go out on dates, or watch everyone else eat if it's a lunch meeting for work, unless I can bring my own food (which I generally don't). Same with family functions.

It feels impossible to keep people safe right now because talking about the reality of safety in this country as a transsexual means ruining the vibe and talking about some scary things and nobody wants to hear that. Everyone's acting like blocking it out will make it go away.

Its so weird the fixation on "slurs" when every autistic person I know deals with abuse and discrimination that never ever udders a harsh word because the abuse of the disabled is systematic and not just a matter of polite terminology.

I'm afraid, and it seems like the proper emotion in the face of horror. Its not some irrational fear of getting hurt, or a lack of confidence. Its empathy for everyone who is already being hurt. Everyone already in cages, everyone already in pain. Its not a looming threat, its a monster ever present
