The decision to call it AI was so, so very intentional.

AI makes you think of Cortana or HAL 9000, it's a marketing stunt to sucker people into believing it's more advanced than it actually is.

If it was just called an LLM, it wouldn't have had the same pull and appeal to nerds.
The confusion and conflation of ‘generative ai that is built on stolen artwork’ and ‘machine learning, character behaviour modelling and proc gen’ is intentional on the part of the grifters peddling the former. They benefit from murkiness of classification, because the latter predates their bollocks

"We Beat 'Em Before... (Portland's Version)"

This idea came to me late. I think it fits really well since Portland Frog Brigade literally carries no weapons and yet ICE has no idea how to respond to them. Just feckless incompetent goons all around.

Reform UK have repeatedly said that Kent is their "flagship" council and "the shop window" for how they intend to run things.

When they are exposed as planning to slash social care for old people, in order to hire their cronies as advisors at £150k a pop, I think people should believe them. ~AA

tl;dr: GenAI and game design concepts traditionally referred to as "AI" (enemy behaviors, pathfinding, etc.) are not the same thing, and I'm on my knees begging people to learn the difference, lest we see more bullshit claims like what The Escapist put out re: Blue Prince.
Weird weekend, huh? Took a crack at breaking down the whole Clair Obscur genAI situation, and its bizarre fallout, as best as possible. My main takeaway right now is that people really need to figure out exactly what they're criticizing or it's going to get messy. www.polygon.com/clair-obscur...

Say it with me now- placeholder assets are supposed to be bright and obvious so you DON’T ship with them.

Also it doesn’t matter if no ai-generated assets are in the final executable?? The rising sea levels aren’t gonna be like “oh well no one saw that so the climate change doesn’t count”

gen ai and chatbots were trained on peoples art and interactions with other people without their knowing or despite it and with no care for their input, this is by definition theft and at the VERY LEAST they should have been paid for it.
Built on a throne of lies and theft.
