The Republicans have been promising a specific plan as an alternative to Obamacare ever since it passed in 2010. The promise is 15 1/2 years old now. That's probably why they don't seem very sincerely interested in it.

There have been young douchebros around my entire life. It’s just that until recently there wasn’t an industry telling them that they were entitled to be douchebros without anyone calling them douchebros.
I have never seen any example of the left "hating" young men that doesn't distill to "refusal to coddle them/insistence on treating them like adults with agency."

It's not that you're conservative. Actual conservativism is a respected mindset in many fields. The problem here is that American political conservativism has been co-opted by fascism.
