About 18 years ago, back when I actually did illustration work, I was drawing and writing 'Prof. Beasly's Beastly Beastiary' as a kid's book pitch. There's been a billion titles like this since then, but maybe one day I'll get back into it (did all this on an old Intuos + Photoshop).

For anyone wondering, some possible dog names have survived from cuneiform sources.

On tiny dog figurines found buried under a palace in Nineveh, Iraq are inscriptions that seem to be names.

dan rigiššu “loud is his bark”

munaššiku gārîšu “biter of his foe”

mušēṣi lemnūti “expeller of evil”

Something I feel not enough people outside of comics are aware of is the fact about 10 years ago Marvel successfully rebooted the concept of the Hulk into a body-horror masterpiece. Multiple writers have explored the idea of the Hulk simply being the latest avatar of man’s inherent fear of monsters.

Another set down. Once I get some white display risers I’ll get proper photos set within the lightbox.

Next up are terminators.

My nieces doing the 67 thing all day every day isn’t so bad once you consider I could recite the entirety of ‘The Bad Touch’ by Bloodhound Gang at the same age.

The little Huntress Wizard origin segments at the start of Fionna & Cake episodes are phenomenal. Likewise, I know some people aren’t fans of the slice of life aspects this season, but I honestly love all the weird little townies and the exploration of Fionna being a well-meaning train wreck.

The Warhammer community is fascinating because you will have this small subset of chuds who are all 'HE-MAN WOMAN HATERS CLUB NO WOKE STUFF HERE' but if you actually enter any actual discussion about 40k you're only ever two comments away from someone posting Ork memes or discussing Tau/Eldar butts.

Thinking about when boss fights peaked in video games with 1997's Mischief Makers. Not surpasses being chased atop an alien cat by a wolf-man riding a robot dog/motorcycle.

Basing comes next as I don’t have the brain power tonight. Next time I’ll experiment with Wild Rider Red as the weapon’s edge highlighting so it pops a bit more against bright lighting (the current Evil Sunz Scarlet looks good in-person, however).

My sleep schedule has become:

8AM: Wake up for work at 9AM.

6PM: Get home and go to bed due to lack of previous night’s sleep.

11PM: Wake up due to going to be early.

3AM: Go back to bed and repeat.

I *hate* winter’s early sunset. It kills me every year.

My nearly 6 year-old niece has taken to circling anything she wants for Christmas in magazines and flyers from their mail. Apparently this even includes the fake snowballs in said advertisements.

pre-writing a devastating obituary for your enemy is god-tier hating of a kind you don’t often see anymore. renaissance haterism. beautiful stuff.
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

Something that warms my elder Millennial heart is knowing my beloved childhood starter Pokémon, Venusaur, has remained a nuisance in competitive tournaments for over a decade.

I feel like I picked a winner when Red/Blue released stateside and it's only Pokémon I actually have Japanese merch of.

In the professional sense, finding most Trump tariffs as being illegal would greatly benefit the international B2B companies I work with.

However, I'm most excited to hopefully pay less for fancy European paint brushes for my little miniatures.

Two more bodies down. They’re in the ugly part until I wrap up the second set of highlights and then finalizing the weapons with their own highlights/burn marks.

Really not a fan if these ‘push-fit’ models as they don’t allow easy sub-assembly (also I feel the overall details are crummier).
