Survey folks, what are people’s recent experiences with online panels in terms of:
1. Panel quality (bots/LLMs)?
2. Representativeness?
3. Cost + time to complete?
Planning a 700–800 US nat-rep pilot.
Best practices welcome!

Updating my own teaching using the excellent "Statistical Rethinking" resources from @rmcelreath.bsky.social , but am wondering if someone has already done some work adapting it to a political science / psychology context? Any pointers are welcome.

What is the hive mind view of the Frontiers (e.g frontiers in political science) journals ? I have seen some controversy about them being predatory, but also have seen colleagues publish interesting papers in them.

Some researchers don't discuss their future research plans for fear of being scooped.
Not me. I drop bad ideas for unscrupulous people to 'steal'.
- What are the neural correlates of Open Science practices?
- What is the role of habits in learning a new skill through repetitive practice?

Does anyone have recommmendation for papers in "mainstream" political science that problematize this polarization framing?
So much of the absurdity in how some elites talk about Charlie Kirk—or navigate the authoritarian politics of this regime—stems from political science’s and the elite class’s fixation on polarization, and the misguided belief that it’s inherently bad and that the “remedy” is civil submission.

I am supposed to teach US students this week what the differences (and similarities) of the German and US political systems are, and I am honestly at a loss on what to say now.
Doing the usual "two party vs. multiparty" system spiel seems woefully inadequate.
