Even People magazine is annoyed
"When an off-camera female reporter... began to ask if there was anything 'incriminating' in the Epstein emails, Trump pointed a finger in her face. 'Quiet. Quiet, Piggy,' he said menacingly."

Tell me again how it's women who are ruining the workplace?

Yellowstone national park is witnessing a striking ecological recovery, driven by the return of one of the US’s most iconic species, the bison.
There’s good news out there if you look for it. 🦬

This piece is important. It is also a great (annoyingly great) example of what a properly resourced team of journalists can do. There are five bylines and almost 20 additional reporting credits on this piece. I've wanted to write this story for months but... do not have that many colleagues
The cost of Trump's immigration surge: Stalled investigations into child sexual abuse, Iranian oil smuggling and human trafficking, among others. My latest piece is a big team effort on how DHS has been transformed into the Department of Deportation.

Obscure but…Summers terse emails are in the mold of James Ellroy (esp tabloid style journalism)

“Was there. Spoke well. Spent time w Softbank deputy Najeev or some such PIF guy too.
Flying back.
[here comes Ellroy]. How is life among the lucrative and louche?”
Summers was giving Epstein advice to pass on to Republican Tom Barrack—the old Trump friend & real estate partner/crook who is now our ambassador to Turkiye—during the Manafort trial. He is as trustworthy as a sieve

Trump April 30: “Maybe they’ll get 2 dolls instead of 30 dolls…”

Fast forward to holidays 2025: 2 dolls??
Paging King Solomon.
My neighbor was just telling me the new "Holiday Barbie Doll" is out and she says
Omg !! $42.00 for it and that's the sale price and she has 2 granddaughters that both want one
Thanks trump tariffs

I believe I could spend twenty-seven minutes cross-examining Larry Summers about his sour grapes comment to Jeffrey Epstein about the grad student who spurned his advances: “. . . to get her to be good probably requires more firmness than I enjoy”.

What’s “good”?
What’s “firmness”
Etc.
The emails have Summers reporting to Epstein about his attempts to date a Harvard economics student & to hit on her during a seminar she was giving.

7/🧵 The loudest voices aren't the most representative. Every generation has extremists, but social media amplifies fringe movements beyond their size. A handful of young white nationalists create viral moments that crowd out broader trends. We mistake the exception for the rule.

Doing non-causal inference (and being explicit about it), yet using a causal word as second word in the title.

If you pay Nature € 10.690, they will publish this in Nature Ageing.

I can tell you what I think of that for free.

This: “I think there’s this old idea that you need to be ASSIGNED a story, or given permission to pursue something, when in reality all you need is to be a nosy bitch with a smartphone. You’d be amazed at how open people are to talking if you simply ask”

Handbasket and its like are here to stay.
