Was talking to a 50-something friend who said they were telling a 20-something that big secret of adults is that no one feels they're an adult.

I know this is a common saying, but I don't vibe w/it at all. Certainly not for last 10 or 15 years.

I feel very much like an exhausted, weary adult.

Delighted that Cory is having a moment with "Enshittification," because it's an accurate word for what's happening in tech and he's the right person to describe it.

Over the past 30 years NASA JPL simply ignores me. They finally responded. BTW my email is on NASAWatch.com Veronica. Let's see what the real number is. You might want to update JPLers a little more often and not try to thwart union organizing so that YOU can lessen confusion. #AdAstra

Sitting for a long time is tiring, plane air is thin and recycled so it often has a higher CO2 content, boarding and deboarding a plane is stressful, and the liminal space of an airport is disorienting. Add it all up and one can get tired very quickly.
It’s a fact and I don’t understand it, but a day of flying just wears you out.

It is indeed a typo and also I would pay cash money for the David Cronenberg version of The Black Hole
@scalzi.com I just realised you're on here! You're the author of my Bible, "The Rough Guide to Sci-Fi Movies". I consult it all the time. Your insight is so broad in scope, it never lets me down.

It also contains my favourite typo in the suggestion that David Cronenberg directed a Disney film!

I mean, there's a new one coming out in September! But importantly, I'm in a place in my career where I don't have to revisit the OMW universe unless I have a story I want to tell in it. I come back to it because I want to, not because I have to.
What is your feeling about writing more books in the "Old Man's War" universe? I'm certain they would be lucrative, but are they getting boring for you artistically?

Ohio has always been a symbol of bland, unexciting America so it's not surprising to me the skibidi generation has picked up on it as well. It's fine.
As a (slightly) older than you foreigner I just learned that US kids nowadays have a very low opinion of Ohio. I wonder what are your thoughts as an adopted Ohioan.
