All I've seen is a hissy fit by so called journalists, trying to make themselves look important. I would have liked to have seen an impact analysis of the winners&losers so people could see how they are affected.Rather than all this nonsense, which the average Joe neither understands or cares about.

I am not sure what it would achieve anymore ?They aren’t really newspapers anymore they are right wing crib sheets with content generated by 1/3 rate client journalists.Having an 18 month enquiry will only tell us what the vast majority of people already know that they are not fit for purpose.

I agree but we need legislation for this, it should’ve been implemented under Levison but was watered down. Our press is out of control, something needs to be done.

also the Rachel Reeves 'lied'' story is absolutely insane. She referenced the downgrade in OBR productivity forecasts which was already on public record. She wen on to mention a number of reasons for the need to raise taxes including investing in public services and increase fiscal headroom.

This story is starting to make me feel I’m going slightly mad - maybe RR overdid the gloom, but the tax rises are paying for a) the welfare U-turns b) the £10bn-plus increase in headroom c) scrapping the two child limit d) bits of other spending eg higher local gov costs ♀️

Nothing illustrates this better than the bun fight going on today over the budget. Mass hysteria based on gossip & speculation. The gov accused of a U-turn on a decision they have not taken. Absolutely bizarre, bring back pre budget purdah & wait until 26th Nov.
Personally I'd be pleased to see BBC News disappear entirely. To argue, as many do, that British politics or our news environment would be so much worse without the BBC you have to explain why British politics and news environment is so very bad with the BBC.
