IRBs have names and registration numbers in the OHRP database. IRB rosters can be obtained via FOIA.

1 very large commercial IRB is located in a state where the law permits public inspection of IRB minutes.

Surely there is no reason not to disclose the name of the IRB.

In short, all criminal prosecutions face hurdles. All of them. But getting a conviction is not the only way to reinforce the meaning and importance of laws. Want law to matter? Start by telling the folks who represent you think it still does. /end

Looking at past authoritarian and concentration-camp regimes around the world, it wasn't always possible to tell in the moment what crisis or challenge to despotism would gain traction and trigger vast consequences. We should celebrate Boasberg and the appeals court judges demanding accountability.
District Judge Boasberg and federal appellate judges deserve our thanks for not simply shrugging and letting the Trump regime get away with defying a court order regarding their cruel and illegal fights to El Salvador..
Trump officials and judge face off over flights to El Salvador in rare, high-stakes contempt probe
A federal judge in Washington has relaunched his contempt probe of the Trump administration for failing to turn around two planes carrying Venezuelan migrants to El Salvador in March.

Senator Kelly is correct.

Plus a Public Service Announcement:

KEY section of Department of Defense's Law of War Manual is 18.3.2.1.

The VERY rule on the "requirement" to refuse illegal orders gives as its paradigmatic example of what is "clearly illegal:
"orders to fire upon the shipwrecked."

With Tracy Hoeg compiling evidence for Vinay Prasad to kill a life saving vaccine under the auspices Marty Makary, it seems like a good time to revisit their first collaboration, an epidemiology paper so bad they had to publish it in an ethics journal.
Predictable.

One reason we failed in the past is bc we didn't build up popular opposition to the crimes, whether it's torture or drone-killing or even attacking Congress.

Now is the time to do that, not after Dems retake power.
If Democrats are ever in power again what’s going to happen is the idea of holding this administration accountable for breaking the law every single day is immediately going to be made out as the greater breach of the rules.

I used to walk past these words every day, proud that we could rise together with these principles.

Marty Makary cites long-time chronic Lyme cult propagandist Kris Newby, but Newby does not mention Lab 257 or a Nazi scientist in her book. And her claim about Plum Island (where Lyme was NOT studied) is limited to a single paragraph.

Newby's nonsensical conspiracy theories are much more nebulous.
Oh god, Lyme too, of course. "Where did Lyme disease come from? I can tell you with a high degree of probability, it came from Lab 257 on Plum island, just outside of Connecticut, 25 miles from Lyme, Connecticut, where the first case was described."

Does the FDA plan to provide any evidence for this claim?
In a new leaked memo, the FDA outlined plans to make it much harder to get new vaccines approved, claiming, without sharing evidence, that the COVID vaccines have killed at least 10 children.

This is so reckless. The science shows us that COVID vaccines have saved millions of lives.

Here’s the fundamental difference Prasad, Hoeg, and people here.

If they miraculously present compelling evidence and experts agree that yes, 10 kids died from the vaccine, we will accept it.

They’ll *never* accept the overwhelming evidence the vaccine helped.
