Watched the new Star Trek show. It's pretty good. Literally have no room in my brain for people whining about it being bad because it has black people and women in it or whatever. No shade to people mocking the whiners, but I don't think I have room for that noise either. It's good. The end. ❤

It's weird because by 1996 I remember most portable CD players having a sleek, round design, even cheap ones. Maybe this one was supposed to be less likely to skip or something.

You don't deal with rabid dogs by training them to obey rules.
Just so people outside of MN know - a lot of the US citizens getting “arrested” by ICE never get processed at Whipple. They are roughed up during the arrest and then often dropped off miles from where they were picked up. It means we don’t know the true scale of what ICE is doing based on ICE stats

Its been my consistent experience my whole life having attended protests since I was a very small child. It was very helpful that I went to Columbia at the height of its first major shutdown and could straightforwardly say what did and didn't happen there and the amazing scale of the police response
One of the things about people showing up to protest for the first time, that many, many armchair theorists don't grasp, is the effect of seeing what happens with your own eyes, then seeing how media covers it, and what is said ABOUT YOU by media and political personalities/office holders.

Our very shy new rescue, & our way-too-polite girl who is losing the use of back legs before it takes the rest of her, broke the ice today.
We got New so ours could have a friend again before she goes- since she just lost her brother but loves other gentle playful dogs
