I think I've shared Kye and Vivi in the past so I'm going to share a different character today. Sumneri is a bit of a mentor figure at times, after being a figure of mystery initially.
To one side, a tall, thin whip of a woman stood, her hair shaved down the sides, the rest plaited in a grey-black mane down the crest of her head. Her brown skin was finely lined, every angle of her face severe and serious, even down to the slanted shape of her large eyes.

Halfway down the next step, Delgrij stumbled and scrabbled back up at the sound of that squeak. And, following her gesture to the case, its base flush with his eye-line, he bit his lip and knotted his brows. A plaque stood at that base, fit onto the wood, with the flowing script of his native vinesong declaring what the case contained; “LYERA” AURU—FEMALE But it was what waited below the impersonal designations that made him back away and shake his head; May her tenacious Breath outlast her meager flesh. Faerai grunted and wiggled her paws at Delgrij’s trembling lips, her arms reaching for his. But he shook his head again and swallowed, “I do not think that wise.” Her brows knotted and her lips pouted up at him but still he shook his head…until her eyes widened. “Burn those eyes,” He mumbled as he knelt for her. “Elleyfen, Delgrij!” She squeaked as she climbed.

2 snippets from a short story im working on - current title is "Polly the Pin Doll" but that's almost definitely going to be changed. i'm very very excited about it :]

I was little more than a girl when my sister brought the doll home. It was a worn, raggedy thing, made of stiff brown cloth sewn together with black thread. The eyes were mismatched – an oversized button for the left, a shaky X stitched in place of the right – and the only color to be found was a red felt heart secured to its chest. I packed quickly, stacking my belongings together in a swift game of Tetris, while she seemed to ponder each item that she placed in her last box. It was annoying, but everything about her was annoying right then, so I said nothing. It didn’t matter how I felt, anyway. Her hands shook more often than not now, and her face was starting to scar, and I didn’t have the heart to hurt her any more than that.
