One big lesson from Mamdani's victory:
Don't be afraid of billionaires. Make billionaires afraid of you. Take them on, don't back down.

Billionaires from Musk on down used all their tricks and failed.

Democrats are trained to lust after billionaire money, but courage has tremendous value.

For The Seattle Met, spoke with Ian Bell about his essential documentary WTO/99. It's an astounding, purely archival film that's an essential portrait of Seattle history and urgently relevant to now. Read that below then see it Thursday @nwfilmforum.bsky.social 📽️

This is, pardon my language, FUCKING BULLSHIT! @leximcmenamin.com is a top tier journalist who had a great interview with Mamdani THIS WEEKEND!!! The kind the NYT could never do. It’s bullshit of Anna Wintour to destroy the TV politics desk on the eve of a mayoralty they were born to cover
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

As SNAP hangs in the balance for nearly 42 million people, misinformation is rampant. Myths of laziness and fraud persist when we should be talking about too low wages for workers, income inequality, and our threadbare social safety net.

In this guest post, Adam Chandler sorts fact from fiction:
SNAP benefits feed essential needs while still leaving many hungry for more
Journalist and author Adam Chandler explains what so much of the conversation about them gets wrong.

To recap: Trump is spending money Congress never appropriated to pay federal employees with guns, and cutting programs and grants even when Congress has appropriated funds.
They literally have a contingency fund for SNAP that they are refusing to use.
No Speaker has done more to weaken Congress.
