Eugene City Council recommends turning off Flock cameras
Councilors on Wednesday unanimously voted to recommend that City Manager Sarah Medary turn off the city's new license-plate reader cameras, citing a lack of trust in the company that operates them.

I spoke to @npr.org about USDA’s illegal demand for sensitive data about millions of food stamp recipients.

It’s the kind of request you make if you’re trying to feed a massive surveillance program, not if you’re trying to feed hungry kids.

Every state should sue, and refuse to comply. 👇👇

While I don’t recommend creating an account, if you’re on truth social it’s worth looking at the replies to this post. Either the left is infiltrating his social platform, or his base is not accepting this excuse.
Nonsense. And laughable

If. Data. Is. Collected. no matter what it's on (robot, smart toothbrush, self-driving car, social media account, etc) police are going to want it and given our current data landscape, they are going to get it.

“In a game in which everything matters, in which we who love it wish to see every possible outcome unfold, how can we stomach the absence of women’s baseball?”

Why Aren’t Women Allowed to Play Baseball?

Must read: Mahmoud Khalil speaks out for the first time since his arrest by the Trump administration in an exclusive letter, dictated over the phone to his family, from ICE detention in Louisiana.

“While Trump campaigned on a promise of maximum pressure on the Iranian government, his decision to cut funding for dozens of U.S.-supported pro-democracy and human rights initiatives does the opposite — it applies maximum pressure on the regime’s opponents.”

From Admin’s desk:

“I have no idea who Nate Smith is but apparently he’ll be performing a free postgame concert after the Vikings regular season home finale next Sunday.

Enjoy, I guess.”

I can’t remember who said that reading is the closest thing we have to reading minds, but I think about it all the time
Every time I read about banning books, I think of this:

Reading a book with a gay character will not make you gay any more than reading a book about Einstein will make you a genius.
If you're afraid that books might change someone's thinking, you're not afraid of books — you're afraid of thinking.
