At An Evening With The Fast Show at the London Palladium and I don’t think there is a member of this audience under the age of 45. House of Pain’s Jump Around came on during the interval and we all perked up way too much.

I have been up since 5am. I am jet lagged to the max but want to make it another hour before turning in.

Amazing, no notes, I do not desire to learn anything else about this story, for it would only detract from the perfection on this headline.

I’m not saying I was the biggest customer of my local Starbucks but I was away for 2 weeks and it has now permanently closed down.

The worst thing about international travel is seeing how efficient other airports are and realising what a woeful shithole Heathrow really is.

Great card for a great month in a great year.
Six years ago, I did a #WhenWasThings for November 1975, this was only the sixth instalment but it was the first one where I thought, The design for this could be anything, could go anywhere...

Do read this. NB Current anti-trans rhetoric is absolutely recycled 80s anti-gay venom. I remember it clearly. Now, as a cis het parent, 40 years monogamous, extending rights and respect to people who aren't like me, has had zero impact on my rights. Seeing my LGBTQ+ friends happy has been great.

On August 12, 1971, 16-year-old me mailed the first story I ever wrote off on its first submission to my dream market, F&SF. My tale was quickly rejected. On July 17th, 2025, I finally sold a story to that magazine. Here's why I felt I had to withdraw that story. www.scottedelman.com/wordpress/20...

Thrilled to learn via Instagram that there will be a drag panto this year. I had heard rumours it was not happening due to scheduling problems. Anyway. Tickets booked. I am now seeing 3 pantos this year.

(Oh no you aren’t!)

Oh yes I am!

Noah Smith is paid in the high six-figures to write a blog read by Americans who believe themselves to be intelligent. Yet, he is both unable to read a sign and also for some reason chose to have a 90 minute layover for a flight that takes 90 minutes.

If anyone is planning to do a trip to Japan and wants to know a good airport to transfer through I can heartily recommend Osaka KIX. I had a 2 hour 10 minute window to land, clear immigration and customs and get my luggage to then check in for the next flight.

Everyone is dunking on Kim Kardashian. The truth is the California bar is notoriously hard, the pass rate was only 55%, the pass rate for people who didn‘t go to an accredited law school is way lower, and lots of very smart and dedicated people don’t pass the first time and become good lawyers.

Authors, Beware! There's a firm called "ClaimsHero" doing aggressive social media outreach claiming to
"help" you file to get $ in the Anthropic class action. In fact, it's a bait-and-switch, they are luring authors to sign up with them, then OPTING THEM OUT of the class action so they'll get zilch.

The reaction to the Panorama edit has been nothing short of hysterical. Yes the BBC has some impartiality problems. But its biggest isn't the one you think.
