“While the AI industry claims its models can “think,” “reason,” and “learn,” their supposed achievements rest on marketing hype and stolen intellectual labor. In reality, AI erodes academic freedom, weakens critical reading, and subordinates the pursuit of knowledge to corporate interests.”
AI Is Hollowing Out Higher Education
Olivia Guest & Iris van Rooij urge teachers and scholars to reject tools that commodify learning, deskill students, and promote illiteracy.

So how can services do better?

Are NHS Talking Therapies failing young adults?

A new study analysed data from 1.5 million people treated for anxiety or depression in England. It found that outcomes were consistently worse for 16–24 year olds, compared with adults aged 25-65.

Hitler did NOT have schizophrenia, because:
1) He was not diagnosed as having schizophrenia
2) He couldn't have performed a successful political career (by his standards and aims) for 15 years if he was
3) Genetics plays no part then or now in diagnoses of such conditions.

It also completely ignores that the circumstances which necessitate people seeking asylum change, so someone may come to the UK to study and then require asylum later. Gaining an education in certain circumstances can actually lead to people needing to seek asylum.
This makes you angry, cos it's a reannouncement of a load of stupid ideas cooked up by the Home Office, a dept so hard of thinking it can barely keep its doors open. But it's also richly (if darkly) comic, because it will increase gaming, degrade stats and achieve exactly the opposite of its intent.
