So I'm at the point where I'd like to use my 20+ years of PR/marketing experience for a progressive org, but because I don't have experience specifically working in campaigns, sustainability, reproductive rights, racial justice, etc., no one will even interview me for these jobs.

When journos are looking for sources and they don't already know someone that fits the bill, they post on social "I'm looking for..." There are even subscription services exactly for the purpose of connecting journos with sources

I'm in a training session on how to use an AI portal at work...and I can honestly say I could not give less of a fuck about this tool and hearing about which LLM it's using.
I truly do not understand how any of this is supposed to save me time. I could do these tasks myself in half the time

Very much this. I can't just live in an endless doomscroll. I need to post about my cat and my stupid costumes and TV and music or I will literally stop functioning mentally.
so the thing is
just because someone is not posting about every horror, does not mean they aren't paying attention or being active in opposition, and I do hope people can learn to read for other signs of resistance rather than demand people create a 24/7 feed of screaming
