I love that people are getting so upset at this.

But realize this has been *the gospel* up to now, as Palestinians and Arabs know from experience. Some of us grew up around these brainwashed lunatics.

This is the framework that the US has operated under w/re: to Israel for decades. It’s not new.
Why is Sarah Hurwitz suddenly doing so many media hits and why is every single one of them basically a caricature of the pro Israel view?

"I'm sorry if this is a graphic thing to say, but … when I'm trying to make arguments in favor for Israel … I'm talking through a wall of dead children."

When Arab officials privately - and increasingly publicly - state that Israel and not Iran is the source of instability in the region, this is why:

As an older woman is arrested under the Terrorism Act for holding a cardboard sign, she's asked if she has anything to say.

Her response: "I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action."

The BBC won't cover this.

They only cover ceasefire violations by Hamas that were made up by Israel in the first place.

Breaking | Ten Palestinians were reported killed and others injured, including children, after Israeli occupation airstrikes hit Deir al-Balah, Nuseirat refugee camp, and areas west of Gaza City during the past hour.

Lots of praise for the vaccine. No mention of how Western countries hoarded a vaccine so low income countries had no access

No mention of the billions AZ made from a vaccine developed with 95% public money, and then fucked off abroad because they didn't want to pay their fair share of tax

I again point out: the big sales pitch to National Front voters is one of the central planks of the government’s policy platform, and e.g. the mural stuff was a Facebook comment that had to be hacked out of the arse end of digital history by dedicated wingnut cranks, and this distinction matters.

Fewer than 1.5 million readers per day combined. There's not really a competition argument.

These rags loom far too large in our minds.

The softer kind of bigotry the BBC peddles to tens of millions every day is far more dangerous.
I can understand objecting to the Mail taking over the telegraph for basically competition reasons but on a purely political level it’s not exactly going to make it any more feral and right wing is it

You’d think that, having inflicted horrific wankers on the public who have wrecked our international trade, enabled genocide and sacrificed members of the public to a deadly virus, the lads would now stop and ask: Should we continue to seek out wingnuts and wackos to blow and promote? But, no.

I’d point out that the Iraq report was instantly binned and never referred to again; that nobody is in prison for the Hillsborough disaster or for *soldiers literally gunning down civilians in the street*, and that there are no notable calls to exact consequences on Boris Johnson. This is standard.
