really cannot be overstated enough how disastrous it would be for the court to hold that the state has a legitimate interest in promoting gender conformity, and punishing or outright banning non-conformity. i suspect that has at least 2 votes at SCOTUS already and that is frightening
Seriously, if the goal here is to ban gender non conforming behavior that essentially means the state can ban being gay again. It can require cis women to get pregnant. That's terrifying.

It is kinda crazy that the only real executive action Biden is gonna take in response to Trump winning is pardoning his failson.

i remember when the savvy take was that abortion was a distraction from the right’s real agenda. now people are dying from complications in pregnancy or being forced to carry their rapist’s baby to term. doesn’t feel like a distraction tbh. maybe we should be skeptical about this re trans rights now
