This is incredible- every last bit.
An Illinois man was arrested after trying to impersonate Sammy Hagar: “He said he was on tour but needed to cash a royalty check,” a bank teller told police. “He was wearing red sunglasses and smelled faintly of margarita mix, so I thought it was actually him.” www.mystateline.com/news/illinoi...

Thank you, concerned activist Sarah from Illinois. If you see this, I’ve already turned in my ballot voting to retain the Supreme Court justices. I had it ready to go before your postcard arrived, and I dropped it off with the county ballot box this morning.

I am getting absolutely SPAMMED with mailers and texts about voting No under the guise of “term limits”- deceptively avoiding any political motivations or speech.

Eyes and ears open, PA. If you don’t want to become even more conservative as a state, vote YES.
"A GOP-affiliated PAC is sending PA voters a mailer warning that the state Supreme Court 'gerrymandered our congressional districts to help Democrats win.' The issue? The pictured map was not drawn by the Court; it was drawn by legislative Republicans and thrown as an unconstitutional gerrymander."
A ‘brazen’ Jeffrey Yass-backed mailer suggests the Pa. Supreme Court created the congressional map it actually threw out
“It’s probably the most shameless political ad I’ve ever seen,” said Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice David Wecht in a rare interview.

Zohran wants universal childcare for everyone in this city and I hear people who NEED this asking 'OK but how will he pay for this?' I'm like 'bitch I haven't heard your ridiculous ass ask ONCE how the city is paying 11 BILLION A YEAR FOR COPS.' NOT ONCE. So damn demagogued.

Inflation rose by 22.6% from 2019-2024.

In that same period, the 100 lowest-paying corporations paid their CEOs 34.7% more.

Worker pay didn't even keep up with the rate of inflation.

Those corporate tax breaks will never, ever, ever trickle down.

WE ARE BEING SCAMMED.

We are teaching kids that kindness is NOT people pleasing.

You can be kind and set boundaries.
You can be kind and say no despite someone else’s feelings.
You can be kind and advocate for yourself.
You can be kind and disagree with people.

Let me get this straight- you picked up a bottle labeled “not for human consumption”, gave it to your toddler to drink, and then contracted a bacteria from your sick child that spreads from inadequate handwashing and sanitation.

And your next logical move is to try to sue everyone?

I enjoy economics, but this remains one of the most interesting things I learned in my economics courses in undergrad.

Once you understand this, you realize how many people don’t and it unlocks a different perspective on a lot of employment discourse.
Perhaps this is a good time to bring up the classic labor economics concept of the reservation wage.

If you pay people too poorly, it’s not worth it to them to work. Either in lost incentives, loss of leisure time, extra expenses like childcare, etc- the costs outweigh the benefits.

I don't want people to eulogize me as a good person. I want the world to be meaningfully better because I was here. And I think there is a difference.

Being a "good person" is a search for cookies. It's like being an "ally." It's a moniker bestowed by others, not on oneself.
